The Sanctuary of Badikhel village,  is a holistic, eco friendly project revolving around Animal Nepal’s Donkey Sanctuary. We envision a place where visitors can interact with rescued equines and farm animals, enjoy camping, dining, hiking and adventure activities. The project promotes community development, nature and wildlife protection as well as local tourism. At The Sanctuary visitors will learn to love and respect animals in a recreational manner. The project will generate income to support animal welfare and community development.

The Sanctuary is a collaboration between maxPro and Animal Nepal.

Established in 2001, maxPro was initially conceived as a marketing communications agency providing its services to both the commercial and non commercial sectors. However, after extensive involvement in social marketing communications, we have grown to become a comprehensive social marketing organization providing a broad range of services to the non profit sector.

Animal Nepal (AN), is an innovative NGO based in Lalitpur District, Kathmandu Valley, and run by an enthusiastic team of volunteers, who are both local and overseas animal welfare campaigners and educators. AN was established as a non-profit company in 2004 and was registered as an NGO in 2009.

Animal Nepal believes that through awareness-raising and practical interventions, widespread animal cruelty can be gradually reduced, and that Nepal can ultimately become a model country for animal welfare in the region.

Animal Nepal manages two sanctuaries, the Chobar Animal Sanctuary and The Donkey Sanctuary.
